SADIE German Shepherd Dog Adult Female in Princeton, Kentucky

My story
SADIE - pretty spayed female German Shepherd/Lab mix, about 6 years old. Brought to shelter by owner as he was having to move and could not take her. We don't know much about her previous life other than her owner was an Amish male. Sadie was shy when she came to the shelter but was gentle, walked well on leash and had no problems with other shelter dogs. She was adopted by a lovely couple soon after she came to the shelter. Sadie did well in that home, was quiet, low key, house trained and had no problem when introduced to visiting grandchildren and no problems with house cat. The couple did not have a fenced yard and allowed Sadie to go our without a leash and on her own for potty breaks. She strayed to her neighbors and was not good with the free range chickens. After 4 weeks the couple felt they had to bring her back to the shelter so that she could find a home with a fenced yard and with folks who would walk her on leash. They feared for her safety if she bothered the neighbors chickens again. We are hoping Sadie will find her forever home soon as it is hard on her being back in a shelter after being in a home where she was loved. She will make someone a wonderful companion and deserves a loving home.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt SADIE, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
